Presentation of the “La Meva Energia” web app and Barcelona’s new AI-powered climate vulnerability map
The Climate Ready Barcelona project is hosting its final conference next Wednesday, June 11, titled “Addressing Climate Vulnerability and Energy Poverty through New Technologies.” The event is part of Barcelona’s European Sustainable Energy Week programming and aims to showcase the tools developed over the past two years to support residents and public entities in anticipating and adapting to the impacts of climate change and the related energy crisis.
Institutional welcome and project presentation
The event will begin with an institutional welcome by Sònia Fuertes, Commissioner for Social Rights at the Barcelona City Council, followed by a presentation of the Climate Ready Barcelona project and its goals by Aniol Esquerra, Director of Ecoserveis Cultura Energètica and project coordinator.
Presentation of developed tools
Next, the tools developed within the framework of the project will be presented:
- The “La Meva Energia” web app: a tool designed to improve citizen support and prevent energy poverty.
- The climate vulnerability map of Barcelona: a resource that shows the impact of climate change on the city and supports the design of resilience and climate adaptation strategies for both residents and buildings.
- Policy recommendations: proposals to address the city’s climate and energy challenges.
Roundtable discussion on the project
To gain deeper insights into how these tools function and are used, the conference will include a roundtable discussion moderated by Mònica Plana, Director of the Technical Department and the Inclusion and Poverty Area at the ABD Group. The discussion will feature professionals from the project’s partner organizations who contributed to tool development.
