This January, with the start of the new year, the Climate Ready Barcelona project launched the My Energy App in a presentation event at the Consorci El Far Auditorium. With an attendance of up to 60 people, mainly energy advisors from Barcelona’s Energy Advisory Centres (EAC), and the presence of technical staff from the Barcelona City Council, the event served to introduce this new tool aimed at improving service management. The event marks the beginning of a new phase of the project, during which a series of training sessions are being conducted to help advisors learn how to use the app in their daily work.
La Meva Energia: For Better Citizen Support
The main goal of the meeting was to present the final version of My Energy App, the result of over a year of intensive work, and to outline the transition process for its use by the advisors. My Energy App represents a step forward in the digitalization of the EAC, promoting more agile, efficient, and citizen-oriented service management. The integration of records, calendars, and tools into a single application simplifies administrative and mechanical tasks, freeing up time and resources so that teams can focus on personalized support for users and the prevention of energy poverty.
Introducing the Tool and Its Challenges
During the event, the application was showcased with a projection and explanation of the main screens, from both the advisors’ and users’ perspectives. Navigating through the tool in front of the advisors demonstrated its potential for integrating various functionalities and facilitating workers’ tasks. It also highlighted the key improvements implemented in the platform since the last version, which had been tested at the end of 2024, resolving previously identified technical issues.

The session also served as a space to reflect on the challenges this technology’s implementation will bring to the involved teams and the best strategies to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition for the workers.
Next Steps: Training and Pilot Test
This presentation marked the starting point of a series of events planned for the first half of 2025, involving the EAC agents with the aim of implementing the application into the daily operations of the service. This January, the process continued with a set of training sessions designed to help professionals become familiar with the tool while also providing information to the technicians responsible for the project in order to correct and validate the user manual of the application. These training sessions have been structured to facilitate the understanding and use of the tool.

Once the training sessions for the teams are completed, everything will be in place for the tool to start being effectively used in the daily operations of the EAC in February, replacing the operational processes that have been in place until now. During the first months of the tool’s implementation, Climate Ready Barcelona technicians will evaluate the application’s performance using a dual qualitative and quantitative methodology, focusing on its proper functioning and the acceptance of the tool by the agents, with the goal of optimizing processes and correcting potential errors. For this evaluation, a sample of 2,600 service users will be considered, including both individuals experiencing poverty and those who are not in this situation.
